Spring has sprung, and people (and the Critters) are getting squirrelly. What better way to get into the spirit than to watch some creature features? What films do the Librarians define as creature features? Dive in (literally) with classic monsters, creepy crawlers, and way too many movies that are set in fresh water for Beth's comfort. Do throuples exist in Atlantis? Is the first rule of Lake Eerie Library Fight Club "Don't tell Beth about tiny tubs of Vaseline"? What is that weird notification noise that we didn't edit out? Just HOW MANY creature movies feature Samuel L. Jackson? Find out now!

The Pike County Massacre
Sunday Apr 28, 2024
Sunday Apr 28, 2024
The Librarians are here to share the details of their most contemporary true crime topic yet.
April 2016- 8 members of the Rhoden family were found brutally murdered in Pike County, Ohio homes. The circumstances of their deaths led FBI and BCI investigators to one of Ohio's longest-running murder investigations to date. Who committed this heinous crime? Was it related to the seizure of thousands of cannabis plants in the area? Could the killer also be involved in a Kentucky murder? Or is there a much more sinister and personal explanation?
As of this episode's airing, a court trial is still forthcoming.

From Amazon:
"On a scorching hot summer day in Elkwood, Alabama, Claire Lambert staggers naked, wounded, and half-blind away from the scene of an atrocity. She is the sole survivor of a nightmare that claimed her friends, and even as she prays for rescue, the killers -- a family of cannibalistic lunatics -- are closing in.A soldier suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder returns from Iraq to the news that his brother is among the murdered in Elkwood. In snowbound Detroit, a waitress trapped in an abusive relationship gets an unexpected visit that will lead to bloodshed and send her back on the road to a past she has spent years trying to outrun. And Claire, the only survivor of the Elkwood Massacre, haunted by her dead friends, dreams of vengeance... a dream which will be realized as grief and rage turn good people into cold-blooded murderers and force alliances among strangers. It's time to return to Elkwood."
Bonus content: Beth's obsession with brain amoebas and seeing Jason Siegel naked distracts her from learning US Geography. Meanwhile Britta's continued mission to stop Timothee Chalamet before he becomes too powerful reaches new heights.
